Ulick McEvaddy
Born in 1952 in County Mayo, Ireland, Ulick McEvaddy was commissioned an officer in the Irish Army in 1972. During his ten years service he specialised in strategic studies and became a Russian speaker. While in the army McEvaddy developed a keen interest in aviation, an interest that would eventually lead to his decision to leave military service and pursue a business career.
In 1984, with his brother Desmond, he established Omega Air Inc., a Texas based US Corporation that specialised in the sale and lease of aircraft. The company grew to become the largest trader in B707 in the world and the largest supplier of this aircraft to the US and other military.
From a single entity in 1980 Omega Air has developed into a group of six aviation companies whose services include spare parts sales and leasing, engine overhaul and repair, aircraft sales and leasing, air to air refueling and re-engining of Boeing 707 series aircraft. Huntstown Air Park Ltd., another Omega Air company, of which Ulick McEvaddy is chairman, is presently proposing to build a second terminal at Dublin Airport on the company’s own lands.
Desmond McEvaddy
Born in 1953 in County Mayo, Ireland, Desmond McEvaddy was educated in Garbally College, County Galway. In 1976 he was admitted into the Honorable Society of King’s Inns and to the degree of Barrister-at-Law. He also developed a keen interest in Aviation and received his first Pilots Licence in 1977 and now holds Airline Transport Pilots Licence for both fixed wing and helicopter.
Gerald Roche
Born Foxford Co. Mayo and raised in Milltown, Newbridge Co. Kildare.
Roche a long standing friend and colleague of the McEvaddy brothers has had a varied and successful career. Roche turned to property in the 1980’s from where he began the creation of his now impressive property portfolio.
